A brief review is made on certain diseases of the adrenal gland with emphasis on functioning tumors. Among adrenal cortical lesions, hyperplasia, adenoma and carcinoma are reviewed, and difference between nodular hyperplasia and true adenoma is described. Among medullary lesions
tumors derived from primitive cells of sympathetic nervous system are described, including pheochromocytoma.
It is finally emphasized that functional spectrum of adrenal cortical cells aid cells in medulla should be meticulously analyzed and interpreted in every clinical symptom complex.
